Okay, this Moleskin livescribe notebook almost threw me into a credit card spending tizzy. I so need this… I so want this…
These Moleskine notebooks look like everyday pieces of paper bound together. But they’ll work withLivescribe’s smartensthanks to the super-tiny dots printed on them that the pen scans in order to function.
Now, this is a a notebook that looks like a regular Moleskine—complete with ivory-colored paper, rounded corners, and a ribbon bookmark—but whose acid-free paper is embedded with a dot pattern that transfers handwritten notes to your digital device when used with a Livescribe smartpen. Instructions for using the digital technology are tucked in the customary notebook pocket, leaving the pages looking relatively blank. Livescribe is selling this innovation as “the perfect bridge between the analog and digital” while Moleskine claims that the “new notebooks combine [the] intuitive feel of pen and paper with the latest digital technology.”

Some of you may be able to pull this off creatively, but not me, and this is not a tutorial. I just posted this scarf that I found onETSY because I thought it was beautiful. I’m guessing it is a photograph of desert clouds that has been transferred onto a silk scarf. So what else is new? Haven’t scarf makers been using this technique for 1 million years? Well, the artist who creates these does them by hand and is only doing a fixed number, making your score for work of art. I love this.

“Mark’s lecture is worth whatever cost or trouble one goes through in order to hear it and see it. My husband and I saw Mark in Manchester, NH at the MQX show. The room was packed. We were at a table in the far back corner. In this position I could see the whole room. The problem with his lecture is that you are so sore from laughing and you can’t catch your breath. And he tells his stories as if you are the first audience to hear it. He has more to say than he does, skipping through quilts he brought to discuss at times. There were people at my table who also knew him, as I did. And others who hadn’t seen him before. He is very real…bearing it all. Therefore, we understand him and laugh because we have been there too. But, he is much more than that. He is at times frantic and crazy as he tells how he lives his life. If you haven’t seen his performance, make it a must on your bucket list before Mark gives it up. My husband and I think back on the things he said and did and laugh again. We have gotten great mileage out of his show. And if I ever have a chance to see him perform, I will do it. Because I had seen him previously, but knew I had to do so again. His show is always different and very worthwhile. And by the way, the people sitting at my table who had never seen him before were in shock…not knowing if his stories were real or not. But we who knew him assured them it was so, and they laughed harder than us. He’s great.”
