If you've ever knocked anything off your bedside table in the dark while fumbling for an awkward switch, you're not alone. Luckily, there is an easy solution to this problem – touch lamps. These come on with a tap of your finger on the base. Frankly, this just makes life that little bit easier, which is always okay with us.
How do touch bedside lamps work?
No, it's not wizardry – instead, the circuitry is wired directly to the body of the lamp, so touching the base turns it on. Clever, right?
A lot of touch lamps have dimmers, too, so you can gradually increase the brightness throughout the day. This is handy if you're using the lamp as a desk light now we're all working from home from home again, or for creating some low light ambiance in the evenings when it's time to unwind after work. Tap once to turn the light on, then again to control the brightness.
We've found a selection of touch lamps, for your bedside, living room or home office that don't compromise on practicality or style.

An easy way to inject some character into a room is to add a few little bits of flair. We think a pineapple shaped lamp certainly fits that bill. If the black shade is a little dull for your tastes, switch it out for something more extra.

We still love bulb holders – put your prettiest Edison bulb (or a cool frosted option for a more on-trend look) in here and enjoy. This comes in oak or walnut or, if you don't mind foregoing the touch function, there's also white marble, terrazzo and copper options.

Seletti is renowned for its more eccentric designs and this staircase-shaped touch lamp is no exception. There's even a little man that sits, contemplatively, on the steps that you can move to whichever you please. Why do we feel this is strangely encouraging?

Reeded glass, tall slim lines and a shiny silver base? This has that Instagram influencer style all over it. If you've got an uber-feminine style (lots of mirrored furniture, silvery hues and all that jazz), this will look great next to your bedside.

This chunky base and large orb like shade is quite unusual – it's almost reminding us of a crystal ball on a base. There are several different finishes available if you like this style, so it's no problem if the monochrome look isn't quite your vibe.
